To provide the highest quality results from chemical peel facial treatments, Ball Dentistry offers you multiple effective peel options. Your personalized chemical peel with exfoliating solutions (such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids) will reveal healthier, smoother, and youthful-looking skin. At our Indianapolis, IN office, our team offers chemical peel treatments that help decrease skin imperfections, including wrinkles, fine lines, scars, uneven patches, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. Chemical peels remove dead, damaged skin cells with an individualized treatment on your skin, which causes the upper layer to peel off. As your skin heals and begins to rejuvenate and repair itself, you may notice a clearer, smoother complexion. A chemical peel facial is a great nonsurgical way to make your skin brighter and can also be used for the neck and décolletage.

At our Indianapolis, IN office, we offer chemical peels in several strengths (light, medium, and deep) to accommodate our patients' skin needs and goals.

Light peels: You can receive a light peel on your lunch break and go right back to your normal routine. This type of peel will remove the outer skin layer (the epidermis), giving your face a brighter appearance and smoother texture. We usually suggest that you schedule a light chemical peel around once a month for the best results.

Medium-depth peels: This type of peel reaches further into your skin, and you'll generally prefer to have this type of facial rejuvenation treatment during a long weekend. You may also want to ready yourself for more discomfort during and up to one hour after a chemical peel. Medium-depth peels are designed for patients who have significant damage to their skin, such as deeper lines and darker pigmentation issues.

Deep peels: The most advanced of the three levels of chemical peels is the deep peel, and it will require the most recovery time. This is an aggressive procedure that may leave your face itchy, peeling, and swollen for 2 – 3 weeks. Patients who receive a deep peel will have dark age spots, sun damage, prominent acne scars, or deep scars. Since this strength of chemical peel is typically uncomfortable for patients, we will provide you with an anesthetic before your peel.

On the day of your procedure at Ball Dentistry, we will have you lying down in a relaxed position to administer your treatment. We will make sure the skin is thoroughly cleaned prior to applying the personalized peel solution to the face and/or neck. We will massage the solution onto the skin and let it work for a specific amount of time, which will be discussed in your treatment planning session. Next, we will wash the solution off your skin and put on a neutralizing agent. Patients may want to bring light sunscreen or a hat to wear outside after the procedure to avoid sun exposure.

I visited Ball Dentistry last week for a crown and had an excellent experience from start to finish. They were able to complete the entire crown in a single visit using their in-office scanner and milling technology, which was incredibly impressive and convenient.Dr. Craig and his assistant Misty were fantastic. They were professional, friendly, and very attentive throughout the entire process. What really stood out to me was how comfortable the procedure was. It was honestly the least uncomfortable dental experience I have ever had.If you are looking for modern dental care that combines advanced technology with great patient care, I highly recommend Ball Dentistry.

About Us
How much does a chemical peel cost?

Dr. Ball will discuss your costs during your consultation once she has created your personalized treatment plan. The cost of a chemical peel will vary based on the intensity you choose. Ball Dentistry accepts several payment methods, and you can ask about current specials on treatments like chemical peels. Buying a package with several chemical peel treatments can also help you save money.

What level should I choose for my chemical peel?

Which level of chemical peel is best for you will vary based on your unique skin issues and aesthetic goals. In your consultation with Dr. Ball, She will help you select which chemical peel is best for your skin. A few factors you may consider are your overall health, your skin type, how deep you want the peel to work, the time you can commit to recovery, and what you want the peel to accomplish. For your first peel, it is better to try a light peel and see what you think of the results. After this, you and Dr. Ball may alter your plan to decide the best type of peel for your needs.

Should I get a chemical peel or dermabrasion treatment?

Dermabrasion and chemical peels are both facial rejuvenation procedures that address surface irregularities to give your skin a rejuvenated appearance. The main difference is that dermabrasion uses surgical tools (a shaving instrument or rotating brush) to remove the top layer of skin through a careful scraping process. A chemical peel applies a caustic solution to your skin to dissolve damaged skin cells. In your consultation, Dr. Ball will review each treatment's pros and cons and help you decide whether a chemical peel or dermabrasion is better for achieving your skin goals.
